Meet Mr. Sikon

Meet the Director

John Sikon grew up in San Antonio Texas where he attended Judson High School. At Judson, Mr. Sikon sang in several ensembles and was a member of the all region mixed choir for three years. In 1999 Mr. Sikon sang with the Texas Bach Choir as their youngest member. 

In 2000 Mr. Sikon received a full tuition vocal scholarship to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While at LSU, Mr. Sikon sang with the LSU A Cappella Choir, the LSU Chamber Singers, the LSU Tiger Glee, and De Profundis. Mr. Sikon graduated from LSU in December of 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in music education.

John Sikon is in his thirteenth year of teaching high school choir. Mr. Sikon is also a baritone soloist and section leader for the chancel choir at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas. When he is not singing or teaching music Mr. Sikon enjoys spending time with his children Abigail and Isaac, his wife Tara, and their dog Zeke. Mr. Sikon’s wife Tara teaches choir at Creekview High School in Carrollton-Farmer's Branch ISD.
