Meet Ms. Engle

Katherine Engle is ecstatic to be the Assistant Choir Director at Byron Nelson High School. Having taught students ranging in age from 3rd grade to college, she is excited to be working with her favorite age group, high schoolers.

Ms. Engle holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Oklahoma State University where she studied under Z. Randall Stroope. While at OSU, she sang in the Chamber Choir and Concert Chorale traveling around the world performing in places such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Carnegie Hall, and St. John’s College in Cambridge, England. In addition to her experience in the OSU choral program, she was active in student life and had the opportunity to direct three large a cappella ensembles in a campus-wide vocal competition. As a freshman, she was awarded Best Female Director of this competition and as a junior her group won the competition.

Ms. Engle is a native Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth where she attended North Crowley High School. She was very active in the choir and theatre programs there, competing in the TMEA All State Process where she was a 3-Year Texas All State Choir member. She was a principal character in two musicals, including the Betty Buckley Best Musical Award winning production of Little Women.
