Beginning Orchestra Class

Beginning Orchestra

Beginning orchestra is made up of 1st year players who have NO experience playing a stringed instrument. Auditions are not necessary for this ensemble. Students interested in learning to play a stringed instrument or students needing another year of entry level techniques should sign up for this class. The beginner class will be taught entry level techniques, motor skills, music language/vocabulary, musicianship, basic sight-reading, and an overall appreciation for music. Beginning Orchestra is meant to be a preparatory group for Concert Orchestra the following school year. Materials required for beginning orchestra are the instrument of their choice, shoulder rest (violin and viola only), metronome/tuner combo, and an Orchestra Expressions Book I.
