Close Up Foundation: Virtual Summer Programs

IMPACT: Justice and Equity
Now more than ever, young people want to play a pivotal role in developing solutions and addressing inequities in the United States. This virtual program equips motivated high school students from across the country with the tools and knowledge they need to become catalysts for change in their communities.
Spring Dates: Every Thursday after school, April 15–May 27, 2021; 6:30-8:00pm (EST). Spots still available!
Summer Dates: 
July 19–23, 2021; 12:00-4:00pm (EST).

Stanford & Close Up Policy Public Course
This virtual public policy course will bring together a diverse cohort of high school students to work on a real-world deliberative democracy project! Students will  identify the most important issues facing their generation; gain the knowledge and skills needed to lead deliberations in their schools and home communities; and develop resources and events to encourage youth participation in nationwide deliberations.
Dates: June 28–July 9, 2021; 1:00-4:00pm (EST).

UNT Gen Cyber Camp
The UNT Department of Computer Science and Engineering is hosting GenCyber Cybersecurity camps virtually in July. It’s funded by NSA and NSF. The goal is to develop cybersecurity awareness and teach cybersecurity fundamentals to middle/high school students. Students entering 9th-12th grades with or without prior knowledge or experience in cybersecurity are welcome to join. The camps are free and emphasize fun, hands-on learning of cybersecurity topics.
