Meet Ms. Engle

Katherine Engle is in her 4th year as the Associate Director of Choirs at Byron Nelson High School.  Ms. Engle enjoys teaching choir and directing both the annual Northwest ISD Middle School Musical and vocals for the high school musical.  Choirs under Ms. Engle’s direction have consistently earned Superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.  In the last four years, 13 of her students at Byron Nelson have earned a place in the TMEA All State Choir. Last year, Ms. Engle and Mr. Sikon won Best Musical Direction in the Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards. 

Ms. Engle holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Oklahoma State University where she studied under Dr. Z. Randall Stroope and is currently work on her Master of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas.

Ms. Engle is a native Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth where she attended North Crowley High School. She was very active in the choir and theatre programs there, competing in the TMEA All State Process where she was a 3-Year Texas All State Choir member. She was a principal character in two musicals, including the Betty Buckley Best Musical Award winning production of Little Women.
