Byron Nelson theatre wins prestigious Buckley and Broadway Dallas awards

The theatre programs at Byron Nelson and Eaton high schools garnered a total of 14 nominations in the prestigious Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theater Awards (HSMTA) and the Casa Mañana Betty Lynn Buckley Awards. After the pair of award shows, Byron Nelson won a total of seven awards!

Byron Nelson’s production of “Matilda” received seven nominations from Casa Mañana’s Buckley Awards and three from Broadway Dallas HSMTA. In addition, Wendy Bramlett was nominated for the Betty Buckley Outstanding Educator Award.

The Bobcats brought home five Betty Buckley Awards and two Broadway Dallas HSMTA Awards. They won awards for lighting design and sound design from both organizations.

Additionally, Eaton’s production of “Les Misérables; School Edition” earned three Buckley Awards nominations.
